Launch packs

One launch, several surfaces, one pack to review.

Show HN, Product Hunt, and the subreddit post, reviewed together. Agent connect offers plain titles when a line breaks the rules.

Glimmerpost launch pack

Owner: Noah Kim. Product: a newsletter server people run themselves.

Launch pack for Glimmerpost: a Show HN post, a Product Hunt listing, and a subreddit post. People run the server themselves. We do not host it. People post from their own accounts. Gander is where this draft is reviewed.

Product Hunt

Tagline: hosted newsletters, no setup, we run it for you.

That tagline promises hosting. Cut it before anyone submits the listing. The replacement should say that a person runs a small server and keeps the newsletter files in a folder.

Show HN

Show HN: Glimmerpost, the hosted newsletter you will loveShow HN: a small server that sends a newsletter from a folder

Other plain options, still open: newsletter files in, mail out. A folder-based newsletter server.
  • No superlatives in the title. Say what the program does in one clause, then stop.
  • The post body names the folder, the send command, and nothing we host. We do not run it for you.

Subreddit

  • Same facts as Show HN. No launch-day adjectives, and no hosting claim.
  • Elise picks the title on this link. The post still goes out from Noah's account.

Before anyone posts

  • Noah posts from his own account. This pack is the review, not the button that submits the post.
  • Elise cuts the hosting claim on the Product Hunt listing before anyone submits it.

we run it for you

Elise Dubois

The Product Hunt line implies we host it. We do not.

Arjun Patel

Cut that phrase. People run it themselves.

the hosted newsletter you will love

Arjun Patel

@agent the HN title breaks their rules, give me three plain options.

agent

Three options: a small server that sends a newsletter from a folder; newsletter files in, mail out; a folder-based newsletter server. Leaving this open so you can pick.

How launch packs get reviewed today

Each surface gets its own paste, so the HN title and the Product Hunt tagline drift apart before anyone posts.

A checklist in chat is fine for owners and dates. It does not hold the copy. Reviewing inside each site is too late to ask the agent for three cleaner titles.

Three plain titles

Noah Kim asks his agent for a launch pack for Glimmerpost, a fictional open source newsletter server: a Show HN post, a Product Hunt listing, and a subreddit post. He runs gander watch on launch/show-hn-ph-reddit.md and sends the link to Arjun Patel and Elise Dubois.

Elise highlights the Product Hunt tagline and says it promises hosting Glimmerpost does not offer. Arjun replies to cut that phrase. The thread stays human.

Arjun starts a new comment: "@agent the HN title breaks their rules, give me three plain options." Noah's agent replies with three plain titles and leaves the thread open. Elise picks one on the same link. People post from their own accounts. Gander is not where the launch goes live.
